Job Description
Core Shed Supervisor performs and monitors projects and programs dealing with drilling, sample collection, preparation, storage, shipping and record-keeping. Position will work with and lead the team to execute department objectives while continuously aligning daily functions to reflect Hycroft’s values.
Responsibilities
- Provides safety leadership to meet Hycroft’s safe workplace expectations
- Performs and monitors all aspects of sampling core and RC drilling
- Coordinates logistical functions related to sampling, shipping, and storage tasks
- Mentor and develop core shed personnel
- Interfaces with contractors and other departments in the pursuit of project goals
- Monitors, corrects errors, and improves routine procedures at all technician levels
- Assists in developing and maintaining procedures and disciplines necessary to proficiently perform all tasks
- Provide updates on processing, shipping, storage progress and needs
- Maintain department specific records, logs, and files as required
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures including, but not limited to safety, environmental, confidentiality and code of conduct.
- Perform related functions as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years’ experience in an exploration sample processing environment, prior experience leading a team preferred
- Possesses good communication and interpersonal skills
- General understanding of mining operations, as well as limited understanding of processing and maintenance operations
- Working knowledge and skill with computers utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
- Strong verbal, written, analytical, and persuasive skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the exploration team
- Must demonstrate mastery in the operation of all sampling-related equipment and duties
